About Surf Hostel Morocco

🌊 A Decade on the Atlantic

About Us

We're surfers, dreamers, and storytellers who fell in love with Morocco's wild coast and decided to never leave.

Surf hostel story
2015Founded

Built by Surfers, for Surfers

It started with a van, two surfboards, and a one-way ticket to Morocco. Karim and Sofia were chasing the perfect wave when they found it — a consistent, uncrowded Atlantic break backed by golden sand and Berber culture. They stayed.

In 2015, they converted a crumbling riad into the hostel you see today — a place that's equal parts surf camp, cultural immersion, and home. We built it with the guests we wanted: passionate, open-minded people who want to travel deeply, not just quickly.

Today, over 4,000 guests from 60+ countries have passed through our doors. Some stayed three nights. Some stayed three months. All of them left with salt in their hair, sand in their bags, and Morocco in their hearts.

Our Values

🌊

Ocean First

Every decision we make starts with the question: is this good for the ocean? We run a zero-plastic hostel, use solar energy, and support local marine conservation projects.

🤝

Local Community

95% of our team is local. Our food comes from local farmers. Our guides are from the region. Surf tourism should benefit the people who live here, not just pass through.

🌍

Open Doors

We welcome everyone — regardless of experience level, nationality, age, or background. The ocean doesn't discriminate, and neither do we.

📚

Teach & Share

Every instructor, guide, and staff member is here to share knowledge — about surfing, about Morocco, about life. We believe in learning as the highest form of travel.

♻️

Sustainability

Solar panels on the roof, composting in the kitchen, reef-safe sunscreen in the shop, and beach clean-ups every Saturday morning. Small habits, big impact.

❤️

Genuine Hospitality

Moroccan hospitality isn't a feature — it's a way of life. Guests are family. Whether it's your first hour or your fiftieth visit, you'll feel it the moment you walk in.
